Law enforcement and campus safety serve as a vital element of every  CARE/BIT team. As part of the core three members of the team (along with counseling and student conduct), they provide  critical insight regarding threats, criminal charges, and collaborative discussions with local, state, and federal law enforcement. Given the broad nature of law enforcement, helping those new to the  CARE/BIT model is critical to ensure they are able to participate as a vital member of the team. The course contains useful supplemental materials, organizations, and references for campus safety and police to further their education on how they can function as an effective member of the team.
