Case managers are essential to the intervention spoke of the wheel of CARE/BIT work. Each member of the team has a responsibility to provide culturally competent interventions that consider the full range of individual differences, including sexual orientation, neurodiversity, and physical differences. Case managers conduct intakes, gather initial information, and build collaborative treatment plans for those they work with. Case managers are “resources with feet” that seek to overcome obstacles and wrap-around care to the person in need. This course offers clarity around the different ways the case management position fits within the CARE/BIT model, either as a separate department attending the team or serving more directly within the teams functioning. Included in the course is a collection of useful supplemental materials, organizations, and references for case management staff to further their education on how they can function as an effective member of the team.
This course can also be purchased as part of the Membership Bundle.
